Everything Happens For You, Not To You!

"When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change."

-- Max Planck, Nobel Prize-winning physicist.

Nothing in life has any meaning except the meaning we give to it. How do you interpret your life events? We color everything in our lives with our interpretation. We don’t see things as they are; rather, we see them as we are. So, we basically interpret things based on our perception which greatly impacts how we experience life. We view people, circumstances and events from the lens of our past experiences which can trigger you to see and interpret things and situations as either a positive or negative based on the mindset built from those past experiences or environmental conditioning.

Whether you view the glass as half-full or half-empty is all a function of your perception which shapes and creates your personal realities and although your perceptions may feel real, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re factual.

Did something happen in your life that you’ve given a negative meaning to?

Think back and remember any so called “bad” thing that happened in your life.

Many “so called” bad experiences have actually been life altering and life defining moments if we can stop, stare and think through them with a different set of lens and perspective.

Was it really bad or did it have some life lessons to teach you? How can you view it differently to turn it into a positive experience for you?

If you lean more toward the glass-half-empty perspective, don’t despair. You can work on your perception and change your mindset because you can choose how you see things. You have that power is in your hands (or rather, your mind).
